# Plumbing permit PLB2026-00092 at 2525 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder

Boulder Planning and Development Services permit PLB2026-00092: issued Aug 12, 2026 for plumbing work at 2525 Arapahoe Ave. Tech encountered bellied sections, fractured piping and improperly installed cleanout near freezer section as well as severely scaled cast iron piping from cleanout running North towards checkout. We will excavate up to 4' in length and up to 4' in depth to access the compromised cleanout piping. We will remove and replace with new plastic piping and fittings, install proper 4" dual sweeping cleanouts, proper shielded underground couplings connecting to existing pipe and new bedding material. We will then use a Picote machine to smooth out corroded cast iron pipe. We will be descaling up to 137' of cast iron piping. The machine uses rotating chains to physically scrape or blast away mineral, grease, and rust buildup from the pipe's interior, restoring normal flow and preventing further blockages. After descale we will use high pressure water jetting to blast out all scale and debris from pipe.
