Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development permit RES-ALT-26-001517: issued Sep 28, 2026 for alteration or repair work at 1375 Adelaide St. During last month's storm, a tree in the back yard was struck by lighting and split in half. A large limb fell on the rear of the structure. Existing structure is a single story, 4 bed 2 bathroom home with single ridge / gable-style roof. The tree limb crushed the rear ridge and gable. Our client engaged Poe Engineering to provide a structural report on the condition of the property. That report is attached. The report noted no structural damage to the property apart from the roof structure. Their recommendation was to replace damaged trusses, decking, and shingles to ""fully restore the structural integrity."". Portions of the tree limb fell through the ceilings in the rear bedrooms. Our scope of work is as follows: - Replacement of rear roof structure -- rafters, decking, soffits, and fascias - Replacement of 8"" LP smart side on rear gable. - Replacement of ~14 sheets of drywall on interior ceilings. - Reapplication of ceiling texture and repaint of damaged areas. - Removal and replacement of flooring due to concerns over moisture intrusion. - Removal and replacement of wet insulation with new blown-in cellulose to joist depth where necessary.
