However, after removing the existing PVC shower panels the existing wall behind was timber (see photos) so is not an acceptable board for a bathroom to be tiled so we have had to remove them to replace with cement board. Due to this we now need a full permit for replacing the open walls. We are also replacing the bath because this was damaged during removal of the board so needs to be replaced.
