# Electrical permit NVAR25-0022 at 802 E 25th St, Tacoma

Tacoma Planning and Development Services permit NVAR25-0022: issued Dec 18, 2025 for electrical work at 802 E 25th St. This work plan is applicable to the following Sound Transit sites: T-13, Old City Hall Station T-15, So. 4th St. Station T-17, Stadium District Station T-19, Tacoma General Station T-21, 6th Ave Station T-23, Hilltop District Station The annual Preventive Maintenance and Cleaning of the platform canopy and gutter for this station will require the following: • Use of the Large Sound Transit (ST) bucket-lift truck and towed Pressure-Washing Trailer. Equipment includes pressure-washer, generator, ladders and hand-tools. • Closure of Northbound or Southbound side of station to establish a safe "work zone (City of Tacoma Permit required). See also, "Site Road Closure Traffic Plan". • Washington Traffic Control is the preferred vendor to assist with this project. • Minimum 2-person crew to perform the maintenance tasks. • All work to be completed during Non-Revenue Hours. Estimate 2 sites to be completed each night. 2 weekend nights to be scheduled (Friday to Saturday, Saturday to Sunday), 2nd weekend if necessary. • OCS Electrical Shutdown of the Mainlines at each station site as needed (Tacoma Link ROW-Permit required). • A Safety briefing is to be held with the Sound Transit workers and the supporting Traffic-Control contractor each night before any work begins. • After the Safety briefing is completed, the traffic-control contractor may begin to establish the "Road Closure" and "Detours required for the worksite. Each station worksite will have its own individual "Traffic Plan". • The Sound Transit Facilities workers will verify that the last train has returned to the yard and that the OCS Electrical Shutdown of the Mainlines has been locked-out and ground-rod has been placed. Once work at the site has been completed, the "road Closure will be removed and use of the street returned to normal. We will then move to the next scheduled site and repeat the process with proper adjustments to match the "Traffic Plan" for that site. Work is expected to be completed after 2 separate weekends of Friday & Saturday Night work beginning 1/16/2026 & 1/17/2026 and ending 1/23/2026 & 1/24/2026. Work hours will be from 11pm on a Friday to 6am on Saturday, and 11pm on Saturday to 6am on Sunday.
