Wake County Permit and Inspections permit CBPR-148156-2025: issued Dec 9, 2025 for fire systems work at 330 Salisbury St. SP - VW/SP The Public Safety Center (JAIL)- ALL TRADES - renovate the existing showers on the 5th through 9th floors of the Public Safety Center - It is intended that the 4th floor and 5th floor work be performed concurrently. Project will begin from the 4th floor up. Floors above are to remain operational / a high rise building that houses the detention center, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Fire Services, the City-County Bureau of Identification and the Wake County Sheriff's Office and was constructed in the late 1980's. This project is intended to renovate the existing showers on the 5th through 9th floors of the Public Safety Center. The project will concentrate on the showers located between Column Lines N & P on the 5th thru the 9th floors. There are 4-pods on each floor color coded onsite as Blue Pod, Yellow Pod, Green Pod, and Red Pod. On each of these floors, there is a "main level" and a mezzanine level". Construction includes an open 2-story day room space and 2 levels of cells/showers around the perimeter. The project is intended to renovate the domestic water piping and showers to reduce piping issues and create access for maintenance. The project will consist of architectural, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical, electrical, and structural renovation. Project phasing is intended to be performed a half a floor/two-pods at a time. It is intended that the 4th floor and 5th floor work be performed concurrently. Project will begin from the 4th floor up. Floors above are to remain operational during the course of construction outside of scheduled shutdowns. Alt. #3 work consists of the removal and replacement of the south side mezzanine block chase to access for the removal and replacement of fixtures, water piping, waste and vent piping as identified on the plumbing and architectural drawings.
