About Nearby Permits

Building permits are public records, but each city keeps them in its own database. Nearby Permits puts them in one place, one page per address, in plain language.

Every page is built from the city's own open data and links back to the original record. Pages refresh several times a day. We show only what the permit says about the work: address, type, description, date, status and reported cost. We leave out the names of owners and applicants.
