The total proposed finished basement area is 1,194 square feet, within a total basement area of 1,230 square feet. To meet egress requirements, a new egress window is proposed at the new bedroom. In addition, a separate basement access will be created by constructing a new exterior stairwell leading to the basement and a new exterior door. All work will comply with the currently adopted city of boulder codes, including but not limited to requirements for egress, light and ventilation, energy efficiency, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
