Nearby Permits shows public building permit records. We don't ask you to sign in and we don't use cookies.
What we collect
- Page views: the page, the referring site, your country and device type. We don't store your IP address.
- Requests to our API and MCP server: the endpoint, the city and address or permit number asked for, the user agent and country. We don't store your IP address or any account information.
- Vercel, our host, keeps standard server logs for security and abuse prevention.
What we don't do
We don't sell data, show ads, or build profiles of people. Permit pages leave out the names of property owners and applicants, even where the city's data includes them.
AI assistants
When you use Nearby Permits inside ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant, we receive only the address, city or permit number the assistant sends to look up permits. We never receive your chat or your identity.
Data sources and corrections
Permit data comes from city open data portals. To correct a record, contact the city permit office listed on the page; changes appear here within a day.
