Boulder Planning and Development Services permit FIR2025-00197: issued Jun 12, 2025 for fire systems work at 1604 Arapahoe Ave. The scope of work for this project is to provide modifications and upgrades to an existing fire alarm system to accommodate a partial building renovation in an existing high school. (Fati) control units: - the existing 4100u fire alarm control panel (facp) will be replaced with a new 4100es facp with voice capability for future audible voice upgrades in the building. - Installing contractor to confirm facp installation location with ahj prior to rough-in. Initiation devices: - duct detectors will be added for three (3) new rtu units. - A duct detector will be added to interface with a new fire/smoke damper. - A carbon monoxide (co) sensor will be added in the boiler room. An addressable fire alarm module will be provided to monitor the sensor. Notification appliances: - some existing appliances (strobes and horn/strobes) will be relocated and new appliances will be added to maintain audible & visual coverage in public and common use areas updated in the renovation. All new devices will follow the existing fire alarm sequence of operations which will also be updated with the new co sensor interface. The existing fire alarm system shall not be disconnected or taken out of service without written permission from the owner. It is the contractor's responsibility to coordinate with the owner the timing of any existing fire alarm system demolition work.
