Boulder Planning and Development Services permit WET2021-00008: issued Jul 2, 2021 for other work at 63 S Cherryvale Rd. South Boulder Creek (SBC) is one of, if not the, most ecologically intact riverine resources on land managed by the City of Boulder. The aquatic invertebrate community inhabiting SBC is considered a reference community for the state of Colorado and the creek supports a relatively diverse native fish community. New Zealand mudsnails (Potamopyrgus antipodarum, NZMS) are tiny, invasive, aquatic snails that form dense colonies which displace native invertebrates, disrupt food webs, and harm fish. To decrease the risk of NZMS spread and protect important aquatic resources, Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) will close access to SBC on OSMP managed land upstream of South Boulder Road. The closure will include installation of fencing at several locations including just south of South Boulder Road (Figure 1) and South Mesa Trailhead (Figure 2). Related to FLD2021-00052.

Type of work and status are our own standard labels, so permits compare across cities. The city's wording is in the "City's category" and "City's status" rows. We show costs under $100 as not listed, because filers often enter $0 or $1 when the city doesn't require a cost.
