This report is not an appraisal for financial claims. The building inspector may require portions of the building or other debris to be removed to allow evaluation of the damage. Structural shoring and additional lighting may also be required. Before demolition or restoration can begin, an approved method of trash containment and removal must be in place. DATE: 5/29/2025 ADDRESS: 1868 E BROOKDALE ST MESA DAMAGE CAUSED BY: Fire INSPECTED BY: Richard Lemcke The inspection of the site identified the following: Please note that before a damage permit is issued an estimate showing the Company doing the work, the subject address, scope of work, materials, and labor from either the contractor or the insurance company will be required. A written scope of work is required to approximate the cost of the permit, verbal estimations shall not be used. This structure is to be restored like for like in compliance with 2017 NEC, 2018 IRC/IBC requirements. Any alterations or changes will require submitting plans before any restoration can begin. During the damage inspection the following was observed: Structural members may have been damaged by and will need an engineers observation letter. Electrical was damaged and will need to replace all wiring, including unit panel and devices throughout per 2017 NEC/2018 IRC or 2018 IBC. Mechanical equipment was damaged, and all mechanical components will need replacing. Minor damage to plumbing, some pipes will need to be replaced or repaired. Any windows or doors that are replaced must conform to current energy codes. Note: Any structural members charred to a depth of 1/8" or greater are to be replaced. All plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems damaged by heat are to be replaced. A. Building is: Residential B. Construction Plans Required No Electrical service can be restored under the following conditions: Temp electric can be issued during construction, however the City of Mesa reserves the right to disconnect power if inspections go beyond 160 days or work is being done without a permit. No occupancy until a C of C is obtained. Please note that the location of the panel may need to be moved as there is not 3 feet of clearance around the panel.
