Install a 200A main breaker inside the Gateway to serve as the first means of disconnect

Electrical at 4271 Frank St, Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections permit EP-2025-08370: issued Nov 21, 2025 for electrical work at 4271 Frank St. Install a 200A main breaker inside the Gateway to serve as the first means of disconnect. Perform a full service redirect (meter ? Gateway ? re-feed interior panel). Install surge protection upstream within the Gateway to protect the system. Do not install SPD in the existing panel; it already has surge protection installed. Replace existing insulated piercing tap connections for the PV back-feed with three-way Polaris mechanical lugs at the solar tap point. Battery/ESS Equipment Install one Tesla Powerwall 3 and one Tesla Gateway. Mount Gateway to the right of the existing meter and inverter disconnect. Be sure to not mount Gateway directly underneath the window as it may block egress and not comply with local code. Mount the Powerwall 3 on the east/rear side of the home, 3 feet to the left of the sliding glass door, maintaining 3 ft clearance to doors/windows. Install EPO next to the meter on the south side of the home near the front. Install Tesla, remote, energy, meter per Tesla guidelines, capturing all site loads and solar backfeed. Special AHJ Requirements Ensure minimum 36-inch working clearance at all installed equipment. Verify that bush trimming and path clearance have been completed prior to install day. Maintain all bonding and spacing per utility requirements for new service redirect. Wire Route Surface-mount conduit from Gateway along the side of the home, keeping runs tight and neat. Continue conduit to the east rear corner where the Powerwall 3 will be mounted. Include conduit runs for rerouting main service conductors between meter, Gateway, and interior panel. If necessary, relocate the customer's existing EV charger holster to allow conduit routing.

Type of work and status are our own standard labels, so permits compare across cities. The city's wording is in the "City's category" and "City's status" rows. We show costs under $100 as not listed, because filers often enter $0 or $1 when the city doesn't require a cost.
