Estuarian and fresh water wetlands and marsh areas will be created adjacent to the new channel surrounded by forested buffer areas. The excavated material will be placed on an adjacent portion of the site for WSDOT's use as part of the SR 167 expansion project. A new short span bridge will be constructed at the Wapato Creek 12th Street Crossing and several new steel monopoles and related foundations will be installed to support the relocation of Tacoma Power lines that span over a portion of the site. The power line work is not considered part of this permit application.
