Mesa Development Services permit BLD2010-02323: opened May 24, 2010 for addition work at 11202 E Germann Rd. Code study; including 3 code modifications (see below), remodel and addition to existing building for installation of shi-2 inflator assembly line. Remodel existing 13,391 sq. ft. building and construct 1,008 sq. ft. addition. Existing building will be divided into H-2 and H-3 occupancies at existing wall; Areas P-1 9,836 sq. ft. (H-3) and P-2 4,563 sq. ft. Area P-1 will house the "gas-fill pre assembly line and the He leak check line. Area P-2 will house the igniter subassembly line and the final assembly line which includes propellant loading. The 1,050 sq. ft. metal building is part of Area P-1 and will house a high pressure compressor for the "gas-fill" portion of the line. Work includes upgrading the fire rating of the existing wall and openings between Areas E and P to a 3-hour rated fire barrier wall, extending the 3-hour fire barrier for 30 feet along the existing pre-engineered metal building walls where they intersect the existing Area E wall. Modify/add to existing MP&E systems as needed for new line installation. Code modifications are separate case's; see bld2010-02396, bld2010-02398 and bld2010-02399. Fire sprinklers and fire alarm are deferred submittals.
